Calgary Woman's Show 2018

The Calgary Womans Show in April was a huge success! My volunteers and I had people stopping us in the aisles, the washrooms and even the parking lot to tell us how much they enjoyed our booth!

The Show hosts over 300 exhibits featuring entertainment, fashion, beauty, boutique shopping and more! Walk Strong Calgary (a division of Witness 4 Fitness), was site promoting Walk 15® as a new, fun means to long-term health & wellness. We had Walk at Home DVDs and MP4 Players for sale among other things, but our primary goal was awareness - we wanted to bring Walk 15® classes to the forefront in Calgary's fitness scene as a viable option and entice
those who never envisioned themselves doing group exercise to try!

The Entertainment Stage
The organizers of the event scheduled us to do a live demo on stage Saturday morning, which was a tremendous opportunity to showcase our Walk 15® format! The demo was 1 mile in duration and included some great door prizes. It was probably one of the best demos I've ever done, and Trenda Tyschuk assisted by showing the crowd how we use resistance bands for the added calorie burn before leading a cool-down & stretch. Trenda teaches Walk 15® in High River, AB.

Volunteers
This is one event I could never have done on my own! With 10,000 people in attendance over the two days, we had a continual stream of people going by at times, and kudos to my team of helpers who were ready and willing to share information. We did 1-mile demos right at the booth, which lead into prize draws, and at times we drew quite a crowd! How precious to see some of my regular walkers from three of my class locations and to see little children joining in, some trying the moves, some just dancing to the music... priceless!

We have been invited back for the Fall show at the end of October and I am seriously considering it. Watch for news!
